An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later released.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
