The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Your Season 2 Predictions — With Some Good News

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been rampant.

Season 1 presents a diverse group of personalities residing in the afterlife, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads recur frequently: Will Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service specifically in mind," the creator stated recently. "But I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.

That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly the new season moves, and how much of what they're waiting for unfolds now.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a couple people make a bingo card about the new season," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on the streaming service on October 29.
